For athletes. For healthier sporting environments.

Better support starts with a practical next step.

Find guidance to understand mental health, ask for help and support someone in sport. We are also building an improvement pathway that helps organisations turn commitments into practice, with independent review.

Our approach

Support people. Improve the environment around them.

Mental health in sport needs both accessible guidance and organisations that act on what athletes need. Our framework is in development; its structure is a working proposal, not evidence of effectiveness.

Working framework

The Five Pillars

Five working pillars organise the improvements we want organisations to make. Requirements and review methods still need independent evaluation.

  • Athlete Support Systems

Access to qualified professionals, clear referral pathways, confidential help.

  • Staff Training & Awareness

Coaches and staff trained to recognise, respond and refer.

  • Policy, Governance & Accountability

Written policy, leadership ownership, budget and athlete voice.

  • Crisis Response & Safeguarding

Documented, rehearsed protocols and safeguarding infrastructure.

  • Culture & Environment

A daily climate where speaking up is safe and normal.

Why MindsMelt exists

Built from inside elite sport

MindsMelt was founded by Jacques Jefferies, Olympic biathlete, to help make practical mental-health guidance and accountable support easier to find in sport.

The framework is built on a simple belief: athlete mental wellbeing cannot depend on goodwill alone. It must be codified, funded and independently verified.
